Wampler EGO 76 Compressor Pedal has expanded control capability .... providing tone, attack, release, level.

A traditional compressor is that instead of just compressing and flattening your tone it also sweetens your guitar sound at the same time.

Brian Wampler and his effects fanatic cohorts at Wampler Pedals enjoy creating unique FX that we didn’t know we needed and then can’t live without.  Case in point the new EGO 76 Compressor with a sparkly paint job that hearkens back to platform shoes and disco balls on the dance floor.  The goal of this new pedal was to achieve the sound quality of the iconic 1176 Peak Limiter.  This is the Compressor/Limiter that studios have used as a goal standard to control instrument sounds in a recording atmosphere.  Wampler has expanded control capability by providing tone, attack, release, level, blend and compress much like an actual studio rack module would offer.

The basis of the pedal is a FET (field-effect transistor).  The difference between the Wampler EGO 76 and a traditional compressor is that instead of just compressing and flattening your tone it also sweetens your guitar sound at the same time.  Having owned and borrowed many compressors over the years trying to achieve the right amount of sustain and control it has hard to find one that doesn’t clip your tonality.  I would recommend exploring the EGO 76 Compressor more so that you can dial it in for specific songs and genres and not just use it as a trick effect.

EGO 76 puts studio effects in a stomp box configuration at your feet.  Compressor pedals are like good shoes and blue jeans, one size does not fit all.  What this pedal does much better than its competitors, besides looking awesome, is provide you deeper controls to dial I the specific amount of compression and sweetness thanks to the Blend control.  The Wampler EGO 76 sells for $199.97 and includes a soft Wampler pedal bag to protect it.  This is an incredible guitar pedal effect that you might want to leave on all of the time.  Add some sparkly to your tone with Wampler.
