Lauryn Leroy: Turning Passion into Power, One Riff at a Time

Posted: August 6, 2026
"Every guitarist begins by learning from their heroes, but the ones who leave a lasting legacy eventually become someone else's inspiration. Lauryn Leroy has the passion, determination, and authenticity to make that journey. Her future isn't defined by where she started—it's shaped by where her music is ready to take her." — Guitar Thrills Magazine

Some guitarists spend years searching for the spark that ignites their musical journey. For Lauryn Leroy, that spark arrived early. Growing up in a home where guitars were always within reach, music wasn't something she had to discover—it was simply part of everyday life. What began as curiosity quickly transformed into an obsession, and before long, the guitar became much more than a hobby. It became her voice.

Known online as LaurynsGuitar, Lauryn has become part of a new generation of musicians redefining what it means to build a career in the digital age. Through energetic performances, precision playing, and a genuine enthusiasm for heavy music, she has attracted a growing audience of fans who appreciate not only her technical ability but also her authenticity.

Every guitarist has a defining influence.

For Lauryn, that influence came in the form of Kirk Hammett.

It wasn't simply Metallica's riffs that captured her imagination—it was the emotion behind Hammett's solos. His ability to combine melody with aggression demonstrated that great guitar playing isn't measured solely by speed or complexity. It's about creating moments that listeners remember long after the song has ended.

That lesson continues to shape Lauryn's own approach to the instrument.

Metal music has always demanded commitment. It asks players to develop speed, stamina, accuracy, and confidence while never sacrificing feel. Lauryn embraces every aspect of that challenge. Whether she's tackling technically demanding passages or interpreting classic metal solos, there's an unmistakable sense of purpose behind every note she plays.

What makes her journey particularly exciting is how naturally it has unfolded.

Social media has become an incredible platform for emerging musicians, but success online isn't built through algorithms alone. It comes from consistency. Every practice session, every recording, every performance contributes to building trust with an audience. Lauryn understands that. She continues showing up—not simply to impress viewers, but to inspire them.

That inspiration matters.

For countless young musicians scrolling through videos each day, seeing someone who shares their enthusiasm for heavy music can be the encouragement they need to finally pick up a guitar themselves. Lauryn's content reminds aspiring players that mastery doesn't happen overnight. Every accomplished guitarist started exactly where they are now—with a first chord, a first riff, and the determination to keep improving.

Behind every polished performance lies hours of repetition that most people never see.

The beauty of guitar is that growth never truly stops. Every new technique mastered opens the door to another challenge waiting just around the corner. That's part of what keeps musicians coming back to the instrument year after year. Lauryn embraces that mindset, continually refining her playing while exploring new ideas and expanding her creative voice.

As her audience continues to grow, so do the opportunities before her.

Original music, collaborations, live performances, and creative partnerships all represent exciting possibilities for the future. While many fans first discovered Lauryn through performances of songs they already loved, the next chapter of her career offers something even more exciting—the opportunity to discover her own musical identity.

Every guitarist begins by learning someone else's songs.

The artists who leave lasting impressions eventually begin writing their own.

Lauryn's journey feels poised for exactly that evolution.

What makes her stand out isn't merely technical ability or impressive performances. It's the passion that shines through every video. The excitement of playing remains genuine, and that's something audiences immediately recognize. Skill may capture attention, but authenticity builds lasting connections.

The world doesn't need another guitarist trying to imitate yesterday's heroes.

It needs artists willing to become tomorrows.

Lauryn Leroy is well on her way.

INTERVIEW WITH LAURYN LEROY AND GUITAR THRILLS MAGAZINE

Guitar Thrills: Growing up around guitars, was there a specific moment when you realized the instrument would become more than just a hobby?

Lauryn: I grew up with guitars around me, so music always felt normal. But once I started learning songs I loved and I could hear myself improving everything changed for me. I found myself thinking about guitar all day, practicing for hours and setting bigger goals for myself. That's when I realized maybe this wasn't something I just enjoyed but it was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Guitar Thrills: Kirk Hammett has been one of your biggest influences. What is it about his playing that continues to inspire you today?

Guitar Thrills: Metal guitar requires both technical precision and emotional expression. How do you balance those two elements in your own playing?

Lauryn: Kirk's playing has so much personality, every solo feels memorable because there's so much emotion behind it. Watching him made me realize that being a great guitarist isn't just about technique; it's about making people connect with what you're playing.

Guitar Thrills: Many people see the finished performance online, but not the hours of practice behind it. What does a typical practice session look like for you?

Lauryn:  I think technique is what gives you the freedom to express yourself. I spend a lot of time practicing so I can play difficult parts cleanly, but when I'm recording, I try not to think about the technical side too much and focus more on the feeling.

Guitar Thrills: Social media has become a stage for today's musicians. What have you learned about building a community through your guitar videos?

Lauryn: A lot of people only see the final video, but there's usually a lot that happens before that. One thing people don't realize is that I learn the riffs and solos (usually) the same day I'm filming them, so it can get really challenging sometimes- especially with more technical songs. I'll warm up, spend time breaking difficult sections into smaller pieces, and keep playing them until I feel confident enough to start recording. It can be frustrating at times, but I enjoy the challenge because every song teaches me something new and helps me become a better guitarist.

Guitar Thrills: Is there a particular solo or song that challenged you more than any other, and what did you learn from mastering it?

Lauryn: I've learned that people connect with authenticity more than perfection. Some of my favorite comments come from people telling me that they picked up a guitar because of one of my videos. That means a lot to me. Social media has given musicians an opportunity to reach people all over the world, and I'm grateful to be part of that.

Guitar Thrills: Are you currently working on original music, and if so, how would you describe your sound?

Lauryn: There have been quite a few, but some of the more challenging Metallica solos have pushed me. The first section of the "Fade to Black" solo still trips me up sometimes, even after playing it so many times. That's one of the things I love about the guitar; is you never really stop learning. Those songs have taught me that it's okay to slow down and focus on the little details and let the speed come naturally. Every solo that I learn makes me a better player.

Guitar Thrills: If you could perform alongside any guitarist—past or present—who would it be, and why?

Lauryn: Original music is something I want to pursue. Right now, I'm focused on continuing to grow as a guitarist and creator, but writing my own music is one of my biggest goals. I'd love to create music with heavy riffs and the same energy that inspired me to pick up a guitar in the first place. I'm also hoping that one day the right band comes along because I'd love to write and perform alongside other musicians.

Guitar Thrills: What advice would you give someone who feels intimidated about learning guitar or playing metal music?

Lauryn: Without a doubt, Kirk Hammett. He's the reason I picked up a guitar, so sharing a stage with him would be surreal. It would be one of those full-circle moments that every guitarist dreams about.

Guitar Thrills: Looking ahead, what goals have you set for yourself over the next few years, both online and as a musician?

Lauryn: Don't compare your beginning to someone else's years of experience. Every guitarist you admire started with basic chords and simple riffs. Progress comes from showing up consistently, even on the days when you feel like you're not improving. Just keep practicing because all those hours add up.

Lauryn Leroy represents the next wave of metal guitarists who are proving that passion, persistence, and authenticity remain the most powerful ingredients for success. While her growing online presence has introduced thousands of fans to her playing, it's her unwavering commitment to improving and her genuine love for music that continue to set her apart.

As Lauryn continues exploring new creative opportunities and developing her own musical identity, there's every reason to believe that today's impressive guitarist will become tomorrow's influential artist. Her story is still being written, but the opening chapters already point toward an exciting future filled with heavy riffs, inspired performances, and limitless potential.
