"The journey was like I needed to eat, and slide came in and I just kept working to refine it." - Keb Mo
About being at A&M Records, what was interesting to me is that there were session players who, if they weren't doing anything, would come and play demos. So, that was always good because I got to work with some great drummers, bass players, and keyboard players, who were working on top sessions and would sometimes come in and play with the demo guys. So, it was great. That time at A&M Records and Irving Almo music when I was on the demo squad, as we used to call it, that was my college.

Mick Mars takes fans to “The Other Side of Mars” with his new solo album!"
Chris Collier was introduced to me by Ray Luzier of Korn and Chris does a lot of the Korn albums.  For recording I used Michael Wagener, who actually started on “Too Fast for Love.”  I met him through Dokken.  But the guy that recorded that record didn’t record it very well, so I called in Michael.  And I’ve worked with him for over 4 decades now.

"I aspire to leave a legacy in this world like Jimmi Hendrix has done, and continues to do." - Eric Gales
Eric Gales is a blues firebrand. Over 30 years and 18 albums, his passion for the music and his boundless desire to keep it vital has never waned, even when his own light dimmed due to his substance struggles. Throughout it all, he continued to reinvigorate the art form with personal revelation in his lyrics and bold stylistic twists in his guitar playing and songwriting.

There are beautiful tree’s such as the “Japanese money tree that “grow intertwined”. It’s really a “survival strategy”. Gravity pulls tree branches downward and it’s “branch growth” is often affected by the force of wind. To “remain healthy” tree’s that intertwine”, rely on each other to gather light, to stay stable in the wind, and […]

Inspired by a family tradition. Motivation that comes from the heart.
BY Edward Schooley - Editor In Chief
Whether it is a rock, pop, or country music inspiration often comes from family ties. At least with the artists that have meaningful lyrics. Many artists pull from emotions, and stories that affect them deeply. While I am not an artist, I certainly can “relate”. When I founded Guitar Thrills Magazine it was out of […]
