"Playing more live shows in the past two years than I have in the years prior, my guitar skills have improved tremendously." - Payton Howie
BY Edward Schooley
In a world that can be so fabricated and counterfeit, I always try to be as real as possible and just say what I’m thinkin’ whether people like it or not. I think the realest thing about the music industry is the fans because they’re the ones showing up to shows, listening to every original song, sporting merch, and showing constant support on social media. The die-hard support I’ve seen from my listeners means the absolute world to me.

"When I first picked up the guitar, it was all about trying to play like the great Hank Marvin." - Ian Moss
BY Edward Schooley
Respected as one of Australia’s iconic musicians, Ian Moss delivers an unforgettable sound – not only as a telling soloist on guitar but especially with his silken voice, ringing with clarity and resonating with pure soul.

"When you get a message in a song, you make that song your own." - Brian Vander Ark
BY Sophia Radisch
I've never been protective over what the meaning of the song is. Here's the thing about songwriting for me. I believe that once the song is out there, it no longer belongs to me. It belongs to the listener. That's why I try to make every single song as perfect as I can before I release it. Because, I wanna say exactly what I wanna say. Then, I release it into the world because then it's no longer my song. It now belongs to whoever hears it.

Candlebox’s Kevin Martin: A Lesson in Contrasts
BY Denise Kovalevich
It’s really all about stress management and exercise, making sure you’ve got your mind in shape as well as your body. I hike the hills here in Los Angeles to get both body and mind prepared for 7 weeks of hurry up and wait ;) and at the same time just getting as much rest as possible, that’s what I’ve found works for me.

"I’ve been grabbing all I could since day one. From people’s amp and pedal settings to their storytelling and stage moves." - Shane Alexander
BY Guitar Thrills Magazine
For many starting out performing music, moving from the bedroom to the coffee house or open mic to the venue, performing can seem daunting and intimidating. So, what does that transition look like for the average beginner, and how can you, as a songwriter, do everything you can to best transmit and engage with the art you are creating? To delve more into this, I wanted to talk to my good friend and the producer of my latest record, “Between Two Worlds” (shameless plug), Shane Alexander.

I made another record after I got divorced. Black And White Rainbows. It's a really bruised record. - Gavin Rossdale
BY Sophia Radisch
I could write 20 songs, but if they can't sit alongside or even actually substitute for some of the songs we have, say, on Loaded, then there's no point in writing them. Meaning, they have to be of quite high standard in order to break into the set. That comes from creating music.

"I always gravitated towards sounds that had a raw ache in them." - Grace Askew
BY Edward Schooley
Music has stuck by my side consistently, without question, like the most loyal of childhood friends. It’s always been something I can rely on. When things got really hard at the beginning of the pandemic, I read stories about musicians in Italy playing off their balconies to help people think about something other than fear and death for a little while.

"The stories behind my music are raw, but when I sing it for a crowd, I don't feel sad, I feel empowered and understood." - Avalon Stone

"We absolutely love touring, but it definitely does take a toll on us." - When Rivers Meet
BY Edward Schooley
This is the first tour where it has been an album tour, previously we already had records out. So, this time it was great to be able to tour a whole brand new album, and then we selected some of our back catalogue that we’d not played out before and a few favorites to throw in as well. So, it feels amazing, even though we’ve only been releasing music properly since 2019 to have such a big back catalogue to pull from.
